Richard Driscoll is a practicing water damage restorer who also instructs technicians in the field of water damage restoration and provides expert advice and testimony. He owns Mayhem & Mishaps, Inc., which originally specialized in offering services in the fields of water damage restoration; sewer clean up and decontamination; trauma/crime scene clean up and decontamination; and mold remediation. Mayhem & Mishaps is now the vehicle for Mr. Driscoll’s instruction, consulting and expert witness business.
Mr. Driscoll is an IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) Master Cleaner and Master Restorer, and an Approved Instructor for water damage and mold. He has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson College of Technology, a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton, has completed postgraduate work at The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania; and is currently working on his Master's degree in Microbiology.
Mr. Driscoll has worked on committees that wrote and peer reviewed the IICRC S520 – Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation in 2003. He has worked on committees that rewrote and peer reviewed the updated IICRC S500 – Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration.
Mr. Driscoll has made numerous presentations on the subject matter of trauma scene clean up and decontamination; sewer back flow clean up and decontamination; water damage and mold remediation. He has published numerous articles in industry trade magazines such as CleanFax and Cleaning & Restoration.
Mr. Driscoll currently works with several law firms providing expert testimony for depositions and court testimony in water damage and mold lawsuits. His services are available across all of the USA and Canada.
